Located in the Mexican state of Michoacán, it has become one of the most charming corners of Mexico, thanks to its atmosphere full of mysticism. Among the main places to visit are:
Plaza Vasco de Quiroga.- Considered one of the most beautiful squares on the American continent; surrounded by civil buildings in baroque and neoclassical style, along with leafy trees, they form a majestic environment.
Regional Museum of Popular Arts and Industries.- This excellent museography has been the subject of a meticulous restoration, becoming a highly recommended place to visit.
Basilica of Our Lady of Health of Pátzcuaro.- The construction dates back to 1543, which served as a Cathedral until 1580. Today thousands of believers from different places in Mexico and the world come to visit it.
Public Library.- Old building dating from 1576 and was a Convent of the Augustinians. In 1938, General Lázaro Cárdenas ordered the establishment of what is now the Library.
Casa de los Once Patios.- A center with crafts from Pátzcuaro and the Lake Region, where you can admire the looms where the famous blankets are made.
Templo del Sagrario.- One of the most beautiful images of Pátzcuaro, built in the 17th century, it took 2 centuries to build, which began on the orders of Don Vasco de Quiroga.
The Ex Colegio Jesuita y Templo de la Compañía.- In this Cultural Center you will constantly find Exhibitions and Concerts.
La Plaza Gertrudis Bocanegra.- The second most important in Pátzcuaro, it is located one block from the Plaza Vasco de Quiroga and is named in honor of a heroine of Independence.
The Guadalupe Sanctuary.- A 19th century neoclassical temple, at the top of its tower you can see four sculptures, representing temperance, charity, strength and faith.
The Plaza de San Francisco.- Here you can observe the bartering that still takes place between members of the Purépecha community.
