Pope Francis has decided to grant plenary indulgences during the Jubilee Year for the apparitions of Our Lady of Fatima, from November 27, 2016, until November 26, 2017. To obtain them, the faithful at the Shrine of Fatima must fulfill the usual conditions: confess, take communion and pray for the intentions of the Holy Father; but the following possibilities have also been provided:

1.- Pilgrimage to the Shrine

The faithful who come on pilgrimage to the Shrine of Fatima in Portugal and participate in a celebration or prayer dedicated to Our Lady. In addition to this, the faithful must pray the Lord’s Prayer, recite the Creed and invoke the Mother of God.

2.- Before any image of Our Lady of Fatima throughout the world

Pious faithful who devoutly visit an image of Our Lady of Fatima solemnly exposed for public veneration in any temple, oratory or suitable place on the days of the anniversaries of the apparitions, the 13th of each month from May to October (2017), and devoutly participate there in some celebration or prayer in honor of the Virgin Mary. One must also pray an Our Father, the Creed and invoke Our Lady of Fatima.

3.- Elderly and sick

People who are unable to move due to age, illness or other serious causes can pray before an image of Our Lady of Fatima and must join spiritually in the jubilee celebrations on the days of the apparitions, on the 13th of each month, between May and October 2017. They must also confidently offer to merciful God, through Mary, their prayers and pains or the sacrifices of their own lives.
