The Holy Land is the land of Jesus, the land where the Son of God was born, grew up, preached, died and was resurrected. It is the geography of salvation, the places that witnessed the origin of our faith.

Living the days of Holy Week and Easter “in situ”, in the land where the most important events of our faith took place, treading the same places that Jesus trod during the last days before his death, meditating and celebrating each of his steps to Calvary, is an unforgettable and profound experience of faith. Visiting Lake Tiberias, where the Lord met his disciples after his resurrection, is an unrepeatable time of grace.

Catholic Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, with the traditional blessing and procession of the Palms, then Holy Thursday, which commemorates the Last Supper and the moments before Jesus’ arrest, Good Friday, the day of Jesus’ crucifixion, who had to carry the cross on his back along what is now known as the Via Dolorosa, where the stations of the Via Crucis are marked, and Easter Sunday, which celebrates the resurrection of the Lord, the victory over death, being able to witness that the Tomb is empty, that Christ has risen.

Israel is preparing to receive thousands of Christians who plan to celebrate the most important of the year’s festivals, both in Jerusalem and in other places described in the New Testament.
