In the Holy Land, one can spend a lifetime without it being enough to delve into all its mysteries; however, we recommend, in a very brief summary, what one should see and feel:
Nazareth.- The Annunciation. Place where the Virgin Mary received the announcement of the incarnation of the word. The Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was going to have a son, who would be the son of God.
Bethlehem.- Birth of Jesus. Place where Jesus was born, in a stable, accompanied by his parents, a donkey and an ox. Here the child was adored by shepherds and kings.
Jordan River.- Baptism of the Lord. It is the river where John baptized Jesus of Nazareth and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him. Thousands of Christians come to renew their baptismal vows.
The desert of Judah. Place of the Temptations, where Jesus fasted for forty days and was tempted by the devil.
Cana of Galilee. The place where Jesus performed his first miracle at the request of his mother Mary, turning water into wine. A propitious place for the renewal of marriage vows.
The Lake of Tiberias. Also known as the Lake of Gennesaret or the Sea of Galilee. Jesus chooses Simon, Andrew, James and John. Here the miraculous catch of fish and the walking on water took place.
Jericho. The city where Jesus heals the blind Bartimaeus and calls Saqueo, who comes down from a sycamore tree to welcome Jesus into his home.
Capernaum. Called the city of Jesus. Here he spends a lot of time performing miracles for the poor, the sick, the crippled and the possessed. Here the resurrection of Jairus’ daughter takes place.
Bethany. The city where Jesus retired to rest, here he resurrects Lazarus after having been dead and buried for 4 days.
Jerusalem. The Holy City, over which Jesus cried and prophesied its destruction. The most important events of Christianity take place here: The death and resurrection of Jesus.
